Every week I write and article for the Euro Weekly News, an English-speaking newspaper covering all the major resorts of Spain and the Balearics. You can pick up a copy on a Thursday ... or read it here every week.

You know how we are always asking ourselves, 'what we would do with our lives if we could begin again equipped with the knowledge we have now?' Well the old Leaper has made his decision. If I had my chance over again, I would choose to be, an illegal immigrant burglarizing jailbird junkie - full of apologies. If I could aspire to all these ambitions my future in my chosen country, (three guesses!) would undoubtedly be assured. As an illegal immigrant I could live on the state, enjoying all its benefits without actually lifting a finger. As a burglar I could enjoy my ill-gotten gains, until an irate homeowner tries to protect their property by laying a finger on me, when, using free legal resources, I could subsequently sue for lots of lovely readies. As a jailbird junkie, during my incarceration, I could insist on being kept in the zonked out state I had become accustomed to, and if refused, sue with the same legal resources for a denial of my human rights. And if caught for a veritable multitude of illegal acts, simply let off with a 'tut tut' if I tell 'em I was sorry.

Not funny any longer is it?

Without doubt the lunatics are now well and truly in charge of the asylum.

When modern society looks back on the Jewish ghettos of Nazi Germany, many ask how on earth the people appeared to complacently allow it to happen? Well I'll tell you, it was because it was done bit by bit. Over a period of time individual rights and freedoms were gradually eroded by the authorities, until the populace were so confused they not only didn't know which way to turn, but also how to make their own decisions - and we all know the horrific outcome of that particular scenario. Exaggeration? Well perhaps, but I tell you, when, in the privacy of your own home, your child deserves a slap on the bum, and all you can do about it legally is sing 'em Baa Baa rainbow sheep under the threat of them reporting you to the state, I would say were well enroute, wouldn't you?

And what about the travesty of the leading member of the Islamic extremist group who retained his position in the HOME OFFICE simply because Tony Blair FORGOT to outlaw the extremist mob he belonged to. I find it difficult to even comment on this totally unbelievable situation. Not only has he somehow managed to obtain a job in the countries most sensitive anti terrorism front line organization, but on discovery, can't be ousted; not only because it would infringe his human rights, but could also result in him being able to sue the government for a fortune.

I mean they have to be laughing at us don't they? A decision like this is tantamount to allowing a member of the Nazi party to retain a position in the war office during the Second World War. Come back Winston (who I'm sure by now has spun so much in his place of internment he's well on his way to Australia!). Britain desperately need the likes of you or a Maggie before the whole country grows heartily sick of the political traitors and P.C's in our midst and decide to take matters into their own hands. And when that happens, being voted out may well head the list of the most desirable way to leave office - if you get my drift!

As it's another gripe up week (nothing new there then!) I couldn't leave you without a word about the unbelievable incompetence of psychiatrist Gill Mezey, who sounds just about on a par with most of the idiots who seem to be making the decisions in this day and age. Ms Mezey a so called 'expert', against all advice, and indeed common sense, allowed John Barrett, a paranoid schizophrenic with a history of mental illness and violence as long as your arm, including psychotic behavior, to walk free from his secure unit. Within 48 hours this maniac had, after purchasing an array of kitchen knives, stalked, stabbed and killed an innocent cyclist. His 'excuse?' because he heard 'voices' telling him to do it! Well to my mind, if all allegations are proved against Ms Mezey, her next position should be in the padded cell next to him, charged with aiding and abetting murder. But it won't be will it. Should the allegations prove correct the worst this stupid woman can probably expect is to simply be allowed to retire, no doubt with a nice fat payout from the state (human rights and all that) and spend the rest of her days in a comfort zone far from those occupied by the loved ones of the man she allowed to be slaughtered.

Not right is it? Hands up all who think Cameron's lot will be any better? Well, all I can say is good luck to the three of you!

Keep the faith ('ard 'ennit?)
