Every week I write and article for the Euro Weekly News, an English-speaking newspaper covering all the major resorts of Spain and the Balearics. You can pick up a copy on a Thursday ... or read it here every week.

When are the authorities going to take steps toward removing these despicable beggars, who seem to be infesting our pavements and streets in even greater numbers than the lice that no doubt inhabit their filthy bodies? And before all you human rights and politically correct wallah's start crying 'shame on you, they should be pitied not pilloried', have no doubt that this whole degenerate spectacle is a professional and cleverly organized operation with 'prime positions' and places of lesser renumeration allocated and distributed with all the aplomb and expertize of any show biz or employment agency in the land.

The numbers of these awful people are growing at such a rate, that often to maneuver past them is like being in some macabre obstacle race. If the situation is allowed to continue unabated, how long will it be before passers by are actually being physically threatened by these people? akin to the knife wielding melon sellers allowed to roam the summer beaches.

One of the problems is of course the police themselves - mind you, one can hardly blame them. Not only have they far more pressing duties to perform, but the very idea of landing these repulsive, smelly, lice ridden toe rags into their vans and cells, only to have them released back on to the streets in a matter of hours, is simply not worth the whole unsavory exercise. But something must be done, thats fer sure. Bandying these views about, as - contrary to some peoples beliefs - I often tend to do. I learned from a nursing friend that an alarming number of babies from these people are being admitted to local hospitals, mostly suffering from malnutrition, exposure and sun stroke. Many of them have been drugged to keep them quiet throughout their 'working day' and some of these little mites are actually dying from their ordeals! Why don't we hear more about about this totally unacceptable and disgraceful situation?

In the light of not too many ideas being put forward might I suggest some grimy prison ship where, after a periodic round up they can be all brigged up, stuck on bread and water and ultimately shipped back from whence they came? True parents of the little ones should then be entered into some kind of care facility, found jobs jobs, and taught to provide and rear their little ones in a civilized and acceptable manner. The rest of these unwanted unwashed dregs should be made to take their chances in their countries of origin and to hell with the rulings of this seriously flawed EEC modern day debacle. S' there.

Many years ago I had the pleasure of visiting that beautiful African country known as Rhodesia. Under the ruling of an unrepentant and independent Ian Smith, the country was at that time subjected to the ugly and of course totally unacceptable rules of apartheid. Even so Rhodesia in its prime was a heavenly prosperous country to reside in. Although the black locals indeed existed under the apartheid yoke, their bellies were full, most had a roof over their head and their smiling, happy faces crowded the markets and shops. Years later, in 1983 I returned to what had then become, with great fanfares and world approval the new African state of Zimbabwe. The difference was frightening. Even after only three years of the taking of power by Ebagum, oops sorry Mugabe, the supermarkets were empty, the streets filthy and littered with burned out cars, and the populace in the main unsmiling and subdued. The odd local who actually had the courage to air his views to me made no bones about the fact that things had been far better under the auspiciousness of Mr Smith. I was truly appalled at what was obviously taking place. On my return (as you are well aware) I aired my views on the subject. Yes you've guessed it, I was immediately shot down and decried as a blatant racist. As we now view the desecration and rape of this once great country, what say you know oh ye of little faith? Racist never. But right, wrong or ranting, always a realist.

Keep the faith.
