Every week I write and article for the Euro Weekly News, an English-speaking newspaper covering all the major resorts of Spain and the Balearics. You can pick up a copy on a Thursday ... or read it here every week. |

When is that ultra tacky al Fayed man going to give us all a break? Losing a son must of course be completely devastating, particularly if you have a Middle Eastern background, where the male offspring is revered far more than the female. But he just wont let it rest will he? How much longer must we be subjected to the memory of these two young people dragged through the mud of media yet again? Can you imagine losing a beloved parent and being constantly reminded of it year in and year out? Well this is what this man is doing to the Princes Harry and William. Just when they seem to be getting on with their lives and putting this tragic event behind them, up he comes again once more, opening barely healed wounds with even more ranting about conspiracies and murder. I mean just how many inquests and investigations does it take to establish this was merely a tragic accident. Merely here is actually the key word as far as the public are concerned The general populace who still believe there was some underhanded devious assassination plot, just can't seem to accept the cold truth that this accident, was in fact just that. Princess Diana was, however unbelievable it may seem, killed in an 'ordinary' communal garden traffic accident. Indeed if this were not the case, then Dodi al Fayed played a key role in his own demise. It was he who altered all the plans at the last minute. Insisting on a change of car, driver, bodyguard and method of vacating the hotel. Unless the so-called conspirators had a bug in his top pocket and were prepared for literally any scenario the margin of error in any assassination plan would be wider than the Grand Canyon. No this was an accident pure and simple. The driver had taken a drink and a couple of 'uppers'. This combination, I know full well gives you a feeling of euphoric invulnerability and have indeed to my shame (when it was not illegal) also driven in this state and can assure you it makes you feel like Schumacher, Senna and Jackie Stewart all rolled into one. How this man must have felt, racing to out run the paparazzi with a real princess and her lover in the back simply defies the imagination. Obviously driving much too fast, it only took a slight error of judgment and that was it. If he did indeed clip another car when he entered the tunnel, then this most definitely would not have helped, but to honestly believe that in all those last minute arrangements and general chaos, conspirators could have arranged to have a car in position to glance off their vehicle at the entrance to the tunnel, and work out that this nudge would send the other car out of control into a pillar, is in my opinion so ludicrous as to be almost laughable. This undoubtedly distraught and understandably shattered father whose hatred of the establishment and royal family has been extremely well chronicled over the years, just has to come to terms with the fact that even if you have 'everything' you cannot indeed have everything. His dreams of cocking a snook and extracting his revenge against all the people he hated within his chosen country have to be firmly and finally put behind him. (If the reports from Diana's close confidents were indeed true she had no intention of marrying his son anyway). This spoiled and privileged individual needs to back off and allow both their families and the public to obtain closure of this modern day tragedy and let both his son and the Princess Diana to, finally, R.I.P. If not he will go to his own grave a bitter and unhappy man, a true example to us all that wealth position and power are not the sole purpose of our journey through this magical manifestation of our earthly spirit and in the end money in fact can never buy us the happiness most of us crave. Aint those old clichés always the best! Keep the faith Love Leapy |
