Every week I write and article for the Euro Weekly News, an English-speaking newspaper covering all the major resorts of Spain and the Balearics. You can pick up a copy on a Thursday ... or read it here every week.

Once again, at the time of writing, the Washed Out Wimbledon factor dominates the annual British fortnight of balls and bats. Just how much longer this supposed world's greatest tennis tournament can survive without spending a few quid of their considerable income on a bit of roofing is a question that oft comes to mind. This year so many games were interrupted even Cliff Richard decided to stay shtumm, (after all, 10 or 15 minutes warbling is one thing, but the equivalent of a whole tennis 'opera', quite another). Once again we are being subjected to the totally un-sporting-like antics of that awful Williams family. As I am scribing this a few day short of culmination, I still have no idea of the outcome of the tournament, but I do sincerely hope neither of these two sisters from hell actually walked away with the title. With their banshee screams, obviously designed to intimidate (as volumes invariably rise when their score rates fall), the exaggerated injuries and blatant play acting when the game turns against them. Plus the strategic toilet breaks, and sideline antics of that dreadful father, lead me to the conclusion they should be banned from the tournament altogether. And before you scream racial prejudice, when these two burst in on the game some years ago, I heralded the occasion like a breath off fresh air for the sport ( I was also a particular admirer of the late great Arthur Ashe I may add), and cheered them on with mucho gusto. Since then, once they gained a few successes, their behavior has deteriorated to a scornful, self opinionated attitude of gab - grab and win at any cost, and I for one would be quite happy to never see them grace the greens or clays ever again. S' there!

Since last weeks discovery of the piece about this column in the London Independent I have learned that the writer, Alexei Sayle, was not only a member of the communist party of the sixties but so indeed were his Mother and Father. And he had the audacity to call me a radical - give us a break!

I see, it's now alleged, that in this latest outrage, doctors were among the members of the terrorist groups who tried to blow yet more innocent civilians to smithereens. The irony here is, were the attacks successful, they could well have been the physicians receiving and tending to the victims. Try to imagine that cold blooded scenario and you get some idea of the sort of animals were up against. I think we should take a leaf out of Iraq's book. Bring 'em to court as quickly as possible, give 'em a fair trial and if found guilty execute them within days. At least we would be sending out the message that enough is enough. But then that's not the British way is it? Well it's about time it was. How many more atrocities must we experience before the authorities come to terms with the fact that these people simply have not a shred of decency or any scruples whatsoever? These human apologies would kill their own women and children if they thought they could blame the enemy and gain Brownie points. And anyway, as I've said before, according to their way of thinking we'd be doing them all a favor. There I go p......g in the wind again, I really don't know why I bother... all right, all right, I can hear all the 'neither can we's' from here.

Hit the big 68 last week. Thanks for all your good wishes (yes there were a few!). Personally I believe when you get this far you should be commiserated. 'Sorry to here it's your birthday again old chap, another year gone eh?' 'Ah well, Ce la vie'.

Enjoy your week. Don't forget to tune in to O.C.I Tuesday 1.30 till 2pm. Keep it cool. Keep it positive. And whatever ya do, always keep the faith.
