Every week I write and article for the Euro Weekly News, an English-speaking newspaper covering all the major resorts of Spain and the Balearics. You can pick up a copy on a Thursday ... or read it here every week.

What a remarkable job the Mallorcan authorities have done in the light of the recent Mother/daughter tragedy that occurred here recently.   The little girl who fell from the hotel room had, within 48 hours, been attended to at one hospital, transferred to another and a short while later, despite   being in critical condition, after prompt and expert attention, declared 'stable' by the doctors. During the same period the body of the mother had also, after an extensive search by police/divers and helicopter crews, been located and retrieved from the sea. Forensic investigators and police are now hard at work endeavoring to unravel the cause of this horrific double tragedy.   Compare this with the debacle of the Portuguese handling of recent events in their part of the world, and you get some idea why those who live on this island feel totally secure and have complete confidence in the emergency services and medical staff, who remain on call 24/7 and never cease to amaze with their professionalism and prompt response to the emergency's, that all too frequently arise on this 'Paradise Isle'. Mucha congrats all around.

Two 'told ya so' events have oozed to the surface this week. Both of which, at the time of scribing, drew the old boy incredible stick from the 'ostrich' and 'rosy gaffer' brigade.

The first was the news that a new report suggests it was highly likely that the tragic Dr David Kelly had in fact been murdered. When at that time I suggested precisely this sentiment, and that I believed our esteemed authorities and 'powers' would stop at nothing, even murder to save their privileged backsides, I was virtually 'keel hauled' by the scoff brigade, who suggested the asylum beckoned the old boy for even suggesting such a ludicrous idea. Hmm! The second was the so called 'cash for honours' scandal,   when I   commented that I found it impossible to believe the Prime minister had no say or influence over these selections whatsoever. One irate gentleman even sent me a letter outlining the whole official selection process. Also suggesting my sanity was in question for even considering anything untoward could have taken place. With the recent statement by the police officer in charge of the investigation, that 'the whole process was treated as political rather than criminal' and he felt 'hampered and hindered' by the attitude of those supposedly aiding his enquires - plus the unconfirmed report that Mr. Blair had threatened to resign were he to be questioned further over the incident -   somehow brought me to thinking that suggestions from some that I was demented, irresponsible and bordering on lunacy for my observations, deserves at least a small vestige of apology? Don't worry I'm not holding my breath. After all admitting to being in the wrong is not an area much traversed by the 'ye of little faith' doubt brigade, is it?

I'll polish off (steady now!) with a piece forwarded to me by a dear friend, which endeavors to explain far more eloquently than I, what is really the meaning of faith and the keeping of it. I quote. 'The only limits to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today. Let us move foreword with a strong and active faith. When following the inner voice, one must deal with the experience of uncertainty. The future is not laid out and comes down to trust. Trusting that the support will be there - that if one path does not work out another will open up. Let go the worry and doubt. Have faith in your connections to universal principles, for it is here your true security lies. The universe will not abandon you if you maintain your connection to it. Keep the faith, and the faith will keep you. Unquote.

Keep 'em coming, and keep on keeping it.
